Has anyone noticed problems with Data Deploy grabbing information from Containers in TS 6.1

Using the old DTD (datacapture) and replicants, everything works nicely. When we set things up in Containers on the new DTD, information that is saved in the DCR is not being pulled through to Data Deploy (iwdd.ipl TUPLE=)

Any info on this one?

Can you attach the files you are using, like the dtd, dbschema, a sample dcr, dd config? From the schema generation side, DD will support containers only using the iwov style dcrs (that is with the old datacapture4.5 format). The reason being that for iwov style dcrs, we parse the datacapture file to generate the schema. Therefore DD will catch the container tags in the datacapture file. But for custom defined dtd's we parse the dtd and completely ignore the datacapture file.

I'm not sure I understand your use case.

I wanted to point out another thing. As I mentioned, the schema generator will not support the datacapture6.0.dtd. One reason, is that it doesn't recognize the root-container element. However, you can always create your own dbschema file manually and insert that into your DD configuration file. What it really boils down to is the attribute called 'value-from-field' in the dbschema element. 'value-from-field' is what DD uses to figure out how to get the data out of the dcr. So you can setup the value-from-field element yourself (rather than using the auto dbschema generation". Then DD should work. The key is to specify the correct mapping so DD can extract the data.

I am facing the same problem as Lucas. I am using the new 'XML' data type with TS6.1 instead of 'IWOV' so my generated DCRs are in a proper XML format. When I try to do the datadeploy, only one row is getting populated in the table, inspite of there being 2 replicants. Attached are my datacapture.cfg, dd.cfg and a sample dcr files.

Also, I am having to use a long, ugly XPath to reference the elements in DCR. Is there a better way of accessing them?

You will not be able to use DD's auto schema generator on the datacapture files in 6.0 format. You can only use the dcr dtd. What are the {iw_sub_element} references in the value-from-field columns in the DD config file? The value-from-field has to be the path to the data in the dcr. You may have to manually fill in the value-from-field and not have DD generate it for you.

I am not using any auto schema generator. I have manually put together the dd_itemmaster.cfg (our dd.cfg file), but copying the values for 'value-from-field' from the TUPLE field of the log file. That's why there is a long name like "ItemMaster/0/{iw_sub_elements}/0/Item_Master_A
dministrative/0/{iw_sub_elements}/0/item_id/0/{iw_sub_elements}/0/#PCDATA" for a simple equivalent of "ItemMaster/Item_Master_Administrative/item_id".

Please let me know if there is an easier way to access the fields from the DCR.

I am not able to post the log file and the DCR, but I don't think it is that important.

Is there any one out there who have used DataDeploy with the new 'XML' style DCR (not the 'IWOV')? If so, can you please post a sample datacapture.cfg and the corresponding dd.cfg (preferably one that includes a replicant)?

If you want to try one more time, how about zipping up all the files. zip files usually attach fine.

I don't know offhand where the iw_sub_elements stuff is coming from. That doesn't look right to me.

Since you have a custom dcr, you have the option of creating a dbschema based from the dtd defining your dcrs.
What I did was take your dcr and generate a dtd from that. Then I ran that dtd through DD's schema generator to get the dbschema config file in the attachment. I plopped that dbschema in your dd config file and 2 rows were inserted in the second table.

If that's not what you are looking for, then perhaps you can play around with the value-from-fields that are in the dbschema file that I have attached.

We opened a case on the issue and Interwoven support helped us fix the problem. I was missing a "custom = yes" attribute for the teamsite-templating-records element in the config file. This fixed the wierd output in the log file for the TUPLE, as well as deploys multiple replicants fine.

The weird thing though, is that the new XML format is an industry standard and should have been the default. I would not have guessed that I should be using custom = "yes" for this. And, as I said before, it would have been great if there was documentation for this. But then, I would be asking for a perfect world.
