iwatcreate, if memory serves correctly is launched through the use of IWHOME/local/iwlocal.cfg - and exists as a distinct process.

So - you want to edit the iwlocal.cfg to remove (or comment out) the line that launches the iwatcreate trigger and then (assuming Unix because you didn't say otherwise) run [as root / sudo] /etc/init.d/iw.local stop
