Web CMS (TeamSite)
i-mode integration with TeamSite
Murthy
Hi,
we have a requirement in our application which needs i-mode(it is a Proprietary packet-based information service for mobile phones in japan) integration with CMS(TeamSite). It would be a great help to us if anybody who have an idea on this can get back to me.
Thanks in advance,
Murthy

If you can describe in more detail what i-mode is, what it does, etc. - then someone may be able to provide some ideas for how to accomplish what you want.
I did a quick google search on it and it remains unclear as to whether you are talking about being able to use i-mode to access TeamSite, or to use PTs to generate pages that use some sort of i-mode markup? (The latter is a guess on my part since one article indicated that it was WAP-like)
If it's the latter - assuming there's a well defined way of how one writes an i-mode page - it should be relatively straight-forward to do this via a PT.
If it's the former, my guess is you'll have to log a feature request with Interwoven regarding it - as I'm not sure what would be involved in making TeamSite an i-mode application (probably a fair amount, so they'll need significant requests before undertaking such an endeavor)
If it's something else - please try to explain in more detail.

Hi,
thanks a lot for your quick reply. As you presumed i-mode also works like WAP(some implementation differences exist between them). It delivers information (such as mobile banking, and train timetable) to mobile phones and enables exchange of email from handsets on the PDC-P network. Launched in 1999 by NTT DoCoMo, i-mode is very popular in Japan.
I am a J2EE guy and just have entered into the world of Interwoven. As you have replied, surely our requirement is creating an i-mode page in teamsite using a PT. Once the cHTML(i-mode mark up language) page is created in teamsite, can you plz suggest the possible ways, where in i can acces that page using i-mode enabled mobiles. Your valuable suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Murthy

I assume that i-mode pages need to be served from either a regular or specialized web-server - yes? If so treat this exactly like you would a normal HTML page.
1. Create DCTs to capture the data
2. Create PTs to generate i-mode-enabled pages from the DCRs derived from the DCT
3. Deploy the generated pages to your i-mode server
(there are a whole bunch of possible steps like reviews, submitting, etc., not shown above) If you need more help on the basics like this - then you probably need to go through some training and/or RTFMs (unfortunately not all the FMs are [in the polite definition] that F, so training of some sort is still a likely necessity).
If you are having problems with a specific part of the process - the more details you supply here the better chance you have of getting a response.
