DD 5.6: deploying metadata to xml
bturns
TS 552
Solaris 8
When deploying TS extended attributes to xml. It appears that it is only possible to deploy to the xml a list of files with their extended attributes (The key being that only files with attributes are deployed). I am looking for a way to deploy an entire list of files whether or not they have attributes. So that the resulting xml file will contain all files within a workarea (the extended attributes will be included with files that contain them)?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks

so you want to deploy ts-to-xml (xml-formatted-data) to produce an output looking like that:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<xml-tuple-data version="2.0.0">
<data-tuple>
<tuple-field name="state">New</tuple-field>
<tuple-field name="path">glossary\dotcom\en\glossary_glossaryitems\apple_jm.xml</tuple-field>
<tuple-field name="TeamSite/MetaData/title">headline xxxx</tuple-field>
.
.
.
<tuple-field name="iw_internal_area">/default/main/dev/WORKAREA/work</tuple-field>
</data-tuple>
</xml-tuple-data>
no sure if i understand what you mean but DD will create one "dump" file for each filelist. when the orginal teamsite-templating-records (dcr's) have extded attributes then they'll be in the file like above. if not then the tuple will look like that:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<xml-tuple-data version="2.0.0">
</xml-tuple-data>
so the dumpfile will contain all files from your filelist regardless of their extended attributes. not sure if that'll answer your question if not then me your dd config file
