Hello Techies--

I just got through with a successful ODBC MS SQL connection to one of our WorkSite database servers. The problem is that I keep getting a login dialog box no one else has seen. It pops up immediately after I click on the "Register>>" button from the "yellow" valid ODBC Unregistered database.

The dialog box asks for a Logon ID (defaults with: sa) and a Password. My 2 options are login or cancel. The login that I know works for the odbc connection (and through FileSite) does not work in this context.

Any advice?

This would be the ODBC connection information, not the FileSite connection information.

What I would do is go into my DSN settings, go through the configuration of the DSN, and do a "Test Connection" with the login information to make sure it's correct and valid. That is the login info to use in the dialog you've encountered.

Also make sure:

1. The login you are using has administrator privileges in the SQL SERVER and on the specific database

2. In the ODBC connection, change the 'default database' to the database you are trying to connect.

Thanks to all of you--it looks like the admin group was working on the passwords while I was setting up the connection. All is well this morning and I didn't have to do a thing!!;-)) Thank you for your advice and time. I did, just to be sure--check out the ODBC test connection (tested OK).
