CCI Email in Workflow

summergs

Does anyone have a snippet of CCI Email code used in workflow they can post? I cannot get mine CCI email to work. (TS5.5.2 Windows2000) Thanks in advance!

You've already got it.

Take a look at iw-home/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl and iwsend_servlet_mail.ipl for examples of sending email with CCI links. There are others as well, but I find them a lot harder to read.

If you're having a specific problem, then post your code and symptoms, and we'll try to figure it out.

1. I have a workflow that CCI email's a link to a manager and then this workflow dies. (no interaction, just CCI email)
2. The manager gets the email with the CCI link. Clicking on this link is SUPPOSE to instanciate another workflow (author_assiggnment.wft)
I am using the following, expecting that my assignment cgi will be presented:

http://tsservername/iw/webdesk/login/iw-bin/iwwft_instantiator.cgi?&iw_branch=/default/main/branchname&iw_first_time=true&iw_home=/usr/iw-home/&iw_role=editor&iw_session=NotUsed_anymore&iw_template_file=default/workflowtemplatefilename.wft&iw_template_name=NameforWorkflow&iw_use_defaults=false&iw_user=yourusername&iw_workarea=/default/main/branchname/WORKAREA/workareaname&iw_file=provide-vpath-of-filename-here

The URL you've given isn't a CCI URL. You're trying to get in via a "back door" to a URL that the system uses internally. Try something like this instead:

http://tsservername/iw-cc/assign?iw_template_file=default/workflowtemplatefilename.wft&iw_template_name=NameforWorkflow&vpath=/default/main/branchname/WORKAREA/workareaname/path/to/file

There are other parameters that can be added in as well. Check the 6.0 UI Customization Guide for details

Do you know if those functions are compatible with 5.5.2 over Windows2000?

Dwayne

Well, based on my quick search, it would appear that the 'assign' CCI command is supported, although I'm not so sure about some of the parameters to it - especially the ones that specify which assign workflow to run.

Also, for 5.5.2, the format of the URL is slightly different: instead of /iw-cc/assign, you would use /iw/webdesk/assign. (I believe that format also works in 6.x, but is deprecated in favor of the new format.)
