TeamSite Reporting

Hello,

I am working for a client who is currently defining Reporting requirements for TeamSite 6.0. I cannot seem to find any information about the reporting capabilities of TeamSite. Does anyone have any knowledge of reports that TeamSite can produce? Either automatically or from logs etc.

no wonder why. reporting will be available in 6.5 .. a small part for free - the rest for another hefty fee

The IW consultants put together a rather nice set of tools known as the PlusPack. This is available only from their group (i.e. if you were to hire them for an engagement and then nicely ask them to provide the tools for you) and is unsupported from engineering.

It's really a shame, too.... such a nice set of tools but I really wonder about their business reasoning on this one in the past. It's nice to know that there will be some tools in 6.5, though.

Interwoven's "Report Center" is an additional licensed product (i.e. you need to shell out more $$'s for it) - otherwise there is no built-in reporting mechanism (other than parsing the iwevents.log file ;-)

Crystal enterprise and crystal reports software is also needed for creating reports.

The reports have to be created using crystal reports software.

A virtual folder has to be created in the crystal enterprise software and the reports created using the crystal reports has to be imported to the virtual folder in crystal enterprise.

The only thing you have to do in the TeamSite Reporting is to configure it to pick up reports imported into the virtual folder of the crystal enterprise.

One more important point to note is you need licenses for both Crystal enterprise and crystal reports software.

We started attempting to use TeamSite Report Center a year ago, and after a year of trying every possible configuration, IWOV support and CE support discovered that there is a bug in TeamSite where TSRC and authentication in Crystal Enterprise is concerned. If your instance of CE is used by other groups, TS requires that all TS users have access to all folders - you have to have permission to access every folder, whether or not you will ever use the other folders. IWOV support has opened a bug, but in the meantime, we've granted users the right permissions and we're still getting an error:

A problem was encountered trying to view the requested report. Crystal Enterprise reported the following error: "null" If the report was not found, refresh the browser window and try again. Otherwise, contact your Crystal Enterprise or TeamSite administrator about this issue.

The Details button says this:

Command details not found in the command descriptors.

The reports are listed in the right virtual folder in CE - I can see the list of reports in the Reports Tab - I just can't get to them. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
