Preview of asp.net in complex branching structure
RonaldV
Hi all,
we are thinking about how to set up teamsite to store a complicated asp.net application.
What we have/want a branch for the .net application to store the dotnet-application AND several branches to store the content-blocks (.ascx controls) for the application application.
Example:
- teamsite-branches:
\dotnet
\content1
\content2
....
- on IIS
\wwwroot\application
\wwwroot\application\content1
\wwwroot\application\content2
\wwwroot\application\....
Problem with this set up in teamsite is the previewing. Say a file default.aspx in \dotnet uses a control from \content1. Dot-net will not be able to find this file (since it is not located within the application-tree) UNLESS you create a virtual-directory in IIS under the \dotnet-branch pointing to the \content2-branch.
Do anybody know of a simple trick which will make this cross-branch-preview thingy work?
I'm hoping/looking for a solution like the isapi_plugin.dll.
Thanks, Ronald
