External tasks "hang" in 6.1

Hi,

we have installed 6.1 on a test server (several times :-)), solaris. Just when we thought it was stable, it turns out the workflows do not work as expected when running external tasks (perl scripts).

I know that it worked on one of the prior installations we did.

Does anyone have any idea? Permissions are checked and found ok. The command runs as expected using command window.

If you're having this much trouble getting an installation to work - you should probably contact Interwoven Support.
Also - since you don't seem to have had much success with 6.1 - you might try moving to 6.5.

Have you tried logging information along the way (throughout the script that hangs)? It may lead you to what's happening.

most likely cause is the vpaths... do print debug logs and have a look.
