Installing Search on TS 6.5

Hi,
We had gone through the TeamSite 6.5 upgrade on a dev box, and skipped the search component, knowing that it would be installed on a separate server (Per IW's recommendation.) Our machines are on the same physical network, but for some reason we're having problems having them "talk" to each other. What exactly needs to be configured here? Our search server has the search component installed, and the TeamSite server has the IW_HOME/iwopenapi/openapi.cfg updated with the "Search.xyzfind.url" entry.
Our search server has been updated with search.properties.

What else is needed to set this up? Do any of the webapps need to be rebuilt?

I think iw.teamsite.server.host in search_home/etc/search.properties should point to TeamSite server is the configuration I think you need to make the search server communicate with TeamSite server.

that's already setup correctly. What I'd like to know is what all needs to be configured on the TeamSite server to allow connectivity by the index/search server?

TeamSite Search is not enabled through OpenAPI. The parameter you mentioned is an old parameter that was used for an earlier implementation of search for TeamXML. You should be updating the cssdk.cfg file located in <iw-home>/cssdk on the TeamSite server. The cssdk.cfg file contains two parameters that might be commented out

Look for

#search.server.host: localhost
#search.server.port: 6720

Uncomment these lines and change the localhost to be the name of your search server. If you picked the default ports, you can leave 6720 as is.

Restart the servlet engine after you make these changes and TeamSite will be configured to talk to the search server.

It might also be worthwhile to check the search.properties file located in the <search-home>/etc directory on your search server. The installer should have updated the search.properties file to point it to the TeamSite host and also to point it to the event-susbsystem host and port.

In your case, I think that you might just be missing the cssdk.cfg changes.
