Privileges needed for a Job Amdin?
RonaldV
Hi,
I'm looking for an generally accepted way of setting up workflows that can be administrated by a privileged user, f.i. when the assigned author gets sick the admin can re-assign the task.
I don't want the TS-master to take this job because he would lack the time for this. It need to be an empowered user.
What privileges/roles would this job-admin need?
Would it be sufficient to give an user the role of Editor and make him Job-owner for all jobs?
What is the preferred way to this?
I've read through all docs but could not find any hints on this. (Maybe something for the next generation of docs?)
Thanks, Ronald

I'm not sure about 6.x - but in 5.5.2 the job owner does have the ability to reassign tasks - so what you're proposing should work - but what if this editor is also out sick - or leaves the company? etc.
You might consider using a custom menu item - or perhaps even better - a custom workflow with a cgitask that provides an interface to all active tasks and allows the user to select a task and choose a new owner and then use an externaltask (owned by a master) to perform the actual steps of reassignment. The workflow could be limited to a set of users (via the available_templates.cfg file) and the cgitask could perform some additional validations before allowing the reassignment to go through - and the externaltask that performs the actual re-assignment could log (or send mail about) the re-assignment to provide an audit trail of sorts...
It actually sounds like a fun project (to me).

In that case maybe you could write it for us. :-)
Thanks for the tip, anyway.
