Hi

No answers sorry, but a few questions which might help:

You are able to save the DCR? But not generate a file?

Is your problem specific to this form? Have you tried other forms?
Could you attach your templating.cfg?

Michael

shrini123

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

Actually when we click browse while generating right. At that point TS actually displays a file save as dialog. At that point in that dialog i get that error.

Thanks in advance

shrini

Dwayne

So you actually get the error when trying to save the DCR?

Does the data directory exist under templatedata/category/type? And is it readable and writable by the user attempting to save the DCR?

The version of TeamSite, and the platform you're running it on, might also be helpful in tracking down the problem.

Hi Dwayne

Actually i wouldnt call save the dcr. instead while displaying the save as dialog. That Save as dialog is having the problems. Yes the data directory exist. It is readable and writable by the user. The user is Administrator. Version is TS6. Platform is Windows 2000. Any clues.

Thanks in advance

Hi Shrini,

I don't think it is clear exactly what you are doing when you encounter the problem.

Can you save the DCR before you attempt to generate?
Can you preview successfully before you attempt to generate?
You have mentioned the problem is related to generate -- can you attach your templating.cfg -- is it correctly configured in the presentation section?

Cheers
Michael

I recommend you contact Interwoven Support for assistance. This will be the best way to troubleshoot your problem.

Michael

Hi Shrini,

I think Lissa is right, you are probably best taking this up with support - I don't feel we are making a great deal of progress here sorry. Someone else on devnet may have greater insight... and be willing/able to progress this further.

I realise this is your first posting -- but for future reference it is generally good practice to put as much specifics in your initial post as you can -- things like exact versions of TS + patches and platform, what exactly the problem is, what you have tried, what works, what doesn't, attach relevant files, logs etc. In the event that people respond with questions then it is really helpful to try and answer all their questions as best you can...

Best of luck.

Cheers
Michael

shrini123

We tried the Teamsite support too. But No luck. Finally came to the conclusion of reinstalling the OS. Dont know if it is going to work.

Michael thanks for your help and advice. will follow your advice in future.

Thanks All for the help and support

I just came across this thread doing a search for "GetDirectoryContentsCommand", and wondering if shrini123 has resolved this issue, or if I need to open a ticket with Interwoven

I am experiencing the same issue since we upgraded from TS 5.5.2 to 6.5 a few months ago, and the Java exception output is nearly identical.

Here's our OS/TeamSite version:
SunOS xxxxxxxx 5.9 Generic_118558-04 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80
Interwoven TeamSite 6.5.0.0

I get the following when I try to create a new DCR, save/save as:
An error occurred executing command
com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.filesys.GetDirectoryContentsCommand

I can edit existing ones no problem, just can't make new ones. We have lots of users on our system, but I am the only one with this problem. As a workaround, I'v been logging out and logging back in as iwmaster to created new DCR's.

My group is the same as everyone else and the permissions are set correctly inside the templatedata directory.

Best Regards,
GM

GC-

Did you resolve this yet? Did you open a ticket yet for this? I am experiencing the same EXACT problems. I also receive the same error when trying to attach existing files to a workflow user task.

Thanks in advance!

No, I haven't opened a ticket yet, a Lissa had suggested. I've been logging in as iwmaster, so the urgency is not there right, now, and no other users in our compnany are experiencing the issue.

On thing a colleague suggested, is that when I want to log out and log back in as another user, I should first log out, then close all browser windows, then launch a new browser before logging in as different user, but, alas, it didn't help . Of course, tried clearing cache/cookies; issueis the same whether IE or Firefox.

Shortly I'm going to try updating my Java VM, to see if that helps.

Best Regards,
GM

I am now gettting the exception with GetDirectoryContentsCommand that others on this thread have had... I'm using TS 6.5 SP 1 running on a W2K box. I've read the release notes for SP2, and it doesn't appear to resolve this issue.

It happens when specifying a location to save a DCR to, and when specifying a generate location. I suspect I'd see it any other place that file browser is shown.

It only happens to my user. It happens with more than one DocumentType, it happens in more than one workarea. I've tried stopping and starting all the services, and restarting the server, all to no avail.

Has anybody managed to find a cause or solution for this issue?

Please ask if you want more details.

Did you ever get a resolution to this issue. We have just upgraded a server to TS6.5 SP2 and LS 2.2.1, and I think we are having the same problem.

samstephens

Here is the answer I got from Interwoven... although it looks like if this is happening for all your users, you don't have this issue....

Obviously I take no responsibility if this blows up your server, kills your dog, etc...

------------------------

Thanks for your reply. As this is happenning to only one, it looks like entity dabase corruption for that user. Please check the below steps to recreate the entry in the entity database for that user.

Run the below command in command-line for the user who is having the problem,

1. iwuser -q

must match the entry for that user in the TeamSite roles files (e.g. domain\username).

2. Note the Entity ID number.

3. If the offending entry is "20", for example, run the following
command:

iwuser -d -loc E::20

4. Flush out the entity database cache by running "iwreset -a" (this also stops and re-starts servlet engine, OpenAPI, iwproxy and iwwebd).

The entry is recreated for that usre. Check if this resolves the issue.

Migrateduser

Have anybody tried this? Does it modify the roles files or any other important files? Will there be any impact on other user's functionality?

13adam13

Have anybody tried this?

It has been a long time since I had to play with the Entity database.

Does it modify the roles files or any other important files?

This does not do anything to any file except the one in the Entity database.

Will there be any impact on other user's functionality?

this does not effect user functionality. The impact to the user is that youare removing any "personalization" that might have existed for the user. An example is that they system will no longer remember the last place the person was on the system, and I think Favorites are erased as well.

Migrateduser

Thanx for the info 13adam13.

We have upgraded from TS5.5 to TS6.5. Few users in our system are logging in the TS and they get an error when they click on any workarea.

Anyone know why?? I am running Interwoven TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 2 with patches 66182 & 64494 on solaris 9

Have anybody tried this? Does it modify the roles files or any other important files? Will there be any impact on other user's functionality?

Well, strangely enough, I've tried it

All it did was wipe out personalisations to the UI - Favourites, sort orders, etc. Nothing you won't be able to easily add back during use.
