WprkSite MP Implementation
jag1309
We are looking at using WorkSite MP, so I am looking for some feedback from people who've implemented the system. How was your experience, including time to implement? Did you use Interwoven's Configuration Services? Any information on this matter will be very helpful

WorksiteMP involves many different components. It depends on what features you want to include.
To set up and have just the Server, Web App running can takes less than a day. However, enabling specific features (e.g. trusted-login, workflow, using the COM object for custom implementaion,...) requires more practice in the older version (3.0). Starting from 3.1 (and now 4.0), configuration and maintenance work have been made much easier with some GUI tools. Documentation in COM programming is limitted but tech support compensates much of that.
Overall, we have a successful adoption of WorksiteMP.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
I am using Worksitemp, It uses different type of components.
The setting of server and webapp is very easy and takes less time also. The help topics are useful a lot. The features like Workroute, Trusted Logon, workflows are all very useful and also very interesting.
All the concepts are documented very nicely.
That should be useful for all.

Most important of all is to answer that Q before even running into implementation. What exactly do your business users want ???
Is it pure document management[filing, retrival, archiving] or collaboration [distribution, traceability] ...I'm sure you're already past that phase now.

Implementing just a plain DMS with WSMP-5.0[Even SSO,LDAP Integration] would be smooth with the exhausive documentation thats now available unlike 3.x or 4.x versions

hello there
i have been working with WSMP for years, i cannot say that's a bad product but depending on your environment complexity it would be a factor of implemenation timing
we have LDAP, SSO and IDM integrated to Worksitemp and lots of proper/custom code for doing this implementation
i strongly recommend to stay in the standar configuration Windows-Windows, I have not good experience working with WSMP on Solaris, Linux and i could rather go to Windows even that i dont like it, besides there are modules that only works on Windows (Communication Service, PDF server, etc)
feel free to contact me in you need any more feedback
good luck!
