Visual Format code cleaning - tagwoattr

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has used <tagwoattr> to remove tags without attributes in the code cleaning section of the Visual Format Configuration file. I can't seem to get it to remove empty span tags i.e. <span></span>. I'm using TeamSite 552 with version eWebEditPro 2.
