Web CMS (TeamSite)
are the TS perl modules being replaced by CSSDK
NathansDIS
Sometime back, I noticed a post here that seemed to imply that at some point, the TeamSite perl modules were going to be replaced by the CS SDK libraries. We have developers here who are wondering if this will happen, and if so, with what version of TeamSite will the perl modules no longer be included. The following are some examples of the perl libraries in question:
WFTask
WFWorkflow
DCRNode
Thanks in advance for any info, insight, etc.

I would think (and hope) that Interwoven would not remove such interfaces without a LOT of advance notice.
At the very least, what should happen is that the Perl modules should become wrapper interfaces to making the CSSDK calls.
At the best, there should be a true Perl API (perhaps making use of web services and/or Perl SOAP calls)
The most likely scenario is that those modules will remain largely as-is and continue to work largely as-is for some time to come.

Thanks fish! Does anyone from IW want to chime in with some info about the product roadmap?

I am not aware of any plans to remove the Perl Modules in place of CSSDK in the near future. CSSDK is the preferred API for custom applications, but we do understand that not everything is exposed in CSSDK and that there are a lot of customers that have adopted the Perl Modules. There will be sufficient notice given even if we were to deprecate the Perl Modules at some point in the future.
