hi
we are using unix version of teamsite 5.5.2 on a 4 CPU machine.
we wrote batchs files which queries iwserver for scanning, modifing listing files in backing store.
These batchs files produces a heavy load and IO wait on iwserver process and to the machine globally and contribution is impacted
is there any ways to reduce the load ?
regards
Eric Grandjean

I don't hae any good news for you. I The only advice - run those batches oernight, when the user-impacted load is absent or minimal.
in general, backing store is already struggling as is, don't make it too hard for it

It might make a difference in terms of how your scripts are written.
I've worked at sites where simply cleaning up some code provided a 60% improvement in performance...

What types of queries are you performing with your scripts? List locks? List modified? Also, what areas are you scanning? Workareas/Staging/Editions?
Can you also offer some hints about the number of branches you have, and the quantity of files within each branch?
