Data deploy preprocessor

Hi,

I need to use datadeploy preprocessor to check for uniqueness of some field taken from metatagger UI.
Before inserting the field value in the database, i need to check for its uniqueness and if the field value is not unique, i need to stop the datadeploy process and go to a new error task which will send a mail to user informing that the field value is not unique.

Is it possible to jump from datadeploy preprocessor to a new task and stop the datadeploy task(external task).

Hi

I think trying to do that within DataDeploy could be quite tricky. As this seems to be a workflow requirement have you considered adding an additional external task prior to your DataDeploy external task? This extra task could perform the validation you describe (in a Perl script perhaps) and then transition to the DataDeploy task in the case of success or to your error task in the case of failure.
