populate DCRs with database values

Hi,
We have some DCRs that need to get data from database(initially). Once the DCRs are loaded with the data, author might change it at a later stage and we would like to use datadeploy to update the database. How can DCRs be populated from database using datadeploy? Do you see any problem with this solution?
