My use of $ENV{IW_WORKAREA} in a perl script called from a DCR via:
<inline command="D:\iw-perl\bin\iwperl.exe

\local\bin\myTest.ipl" />
Is throwing an Error (the code works perfectly on TS5.5.2, crashes on TS6.1.0). I have read some post regarding the bug 47058, but the patch is for AIX, and I am running Windows 2000. Does anyone know if there is a patch for Windows2000? Is there a work around with this?

Are you sure that's the problem in the script?
If you can post the script - others could look at it and see if they see anything else that might be the source of the problem.
If you're sure that's the source of the problem I suggest you contact Interwoven Support because they would need to verify it so that it can be properly filed. If they can't verify it - they should be able to help you fix it.

Are you certain that's the cause? The version of Perl changed between TS 5.5.2 and TS 6.1. That's just as likely to be the cause of the problem.

I remember there being a bug related to missing ENV variables in the inline callout, but I'm almost positive it was fixed by 6.1.

I suggest you try changing:

    my $brchvalue = ($areavpath =~ m/\/default\/main\/federal\/Projects\/(.*?)\/WORKAREA\/.*$/);

to:

    my ($brchvalue) = ($areavpath =~ m/\/default\/main\/federal\/Projects\/(.*?)\/WORKAREA\/.*$/);

or better:

    my ($brchvalue) = ($areavpath =~ m|/default/main/federal/Projects/(.*?)/WORKAREA/.*$|);

and see if that fixes the problem.

I was thinking something similar, Fish, but I don't think that's it. While it's true that the original code isn't setting the value it looks like it's setting into $brchvalue, it doesn't really matter, because the variable isn't being used. Instead, the $1 placeholder variable is being used.

It would normally be something like D:\iw-home\iw-perl\bin\iwperl.exe

Which interface are you logged on to?

I found that several ENV variables available in CCPRO are NOT available in CCSTD. One being, iw_workarea

Note: this is the case with running CGI's as a CGI task, not 100% sure about an inline

What happens if you try to run the exact command that's listed in the DCT, but from the command line? That is, type

\iw-perl\bin\iwperl.exe \local\bin\PLC_projectNumber.ipl

at a command prompt, and see what happens.

I realize that the environment variables won't be set, but it looks from the code like that shouldn't matter enough to cause this sort of error.

That makes a great deal more sense. If it were at D:\iw-perl, and someone from Interwoven had done it, I was going to ask you for some names. I probably know whoever from Interwoven came out to set you up, and I was going to have a long discussion with them, cause that made no sense at all!

I encountered same kind of problems when I tested the TS 6 Beta.
The main issue was the way TS addresses internally its File System :
Before (in TS 5.X): it was /Backingstore/main/branch/....
now it's //server/Backingstore/main/ ....

So the problem rises when you use directly the $ENV variable to build a substring with regex.
Try first to suppress the "//serveur" with the following regex.

Since you are already using a different character for the separating character for the regex - you don't need to escape the slashes - e.g.:$iw_WORKAREA =~ s#//[^/]+(.*)#$1#gi;Going a bit further, I tend to prefer using a character other than '#' since that can often be confused with a comment character (especially in some editors that attempt to do syntax colorization) - and since you only need to strip off the leading string - and there is only one string and no case-sensitive parts to it - it can be written even simpler:$iw_WORKAREA =~ s|^//[^/]+||;The original code would work, I just think the last rendition is a bit easier to grok.

I'm having a similar issue with my inlines upgrading to 6.5. It seems that without using y:\default\main etc.. I cant get a simple script that lists files in a directory to work? What is the correct path to use in Teamsite 6.5 \\server name or y:default\main etc..

DirWalk expects a filesystem path

Have you examined what $ENV{IW_WORKAREA} returns?

If it returns a vpath of the form /default/main/... - then you need to precede the path with the value of iwmount (on Unix - this may have worked just fine without modification, on Windows - this would only have worked if the current working directory was somewhere within iwmount already)

If it returns a vpath of the form //tserver/default/main/... - (the "new" form of vpath) then you need to strip off the ts-server part and replace it with the value of iwmount

If it reutrns a file system path - you should be fine to go.

Or - in code form - something like:use TeamSite::Config;

I would guess that the value of IW_WORKAREA has changed. Have you logged this value to see what it is?

I have looked at and logged what is being returned. My flaw was not passing in the value of iwmount in place of the new vpath. I have replaced the server name with the mount and everything is working as expected. The key was knowing what Dirwalk expected which I did not. As always thanks for your excellant feedback.
