OD Error
Bhargav Coca
I am on Teamsite 6.1, working on windows 2k3. and on OD6.0, DD6.0. Using the Interface for the OD, i am trying t log in, to start a deployment. I am getting an error that OD Admin not found. i am an administrator myself. And i have my Id included in all UID files. Can any one tell me what might be a problem.
Jessica.

I have to specify my domain in the username field of OD to get it to work. Something like this: DOMAIN\username. If you are using AD to handle your user accounts, I would make sure that you have your domain and your username listed in this format in the UID files. Hope this helps.

Have you gone through the bootstrap administration process to enable your login id to work with the OD Admin UI? (RTFM)

no, i haven't done that, do we have to do this, i thought, the teamsite will take care of it. i have a valid username and password for the teamsite, will this not be used by OD?
Thanks

Although both OD and TS are produced by the same company - they are separate products with separate authentication mechanisms. I strongly suggest you read the OpenDeploy manuals regarding setting up the bootstrap administrator and then setting up OD Admins and Users in the Admin UI.

Try to re-install ContentServices Foundation. I had the same issue in the past and a re-install of CSF solved the issue. The administrator is configured as the bootstrap by default.

hi,
Does any one encountered this error during installation of CSF?
Error
-----
The following error occurred. The installation will now quit.
==============================================
InstallManager.install error - cannot determine current product version,
upgrade is impossible
How can this problem be solved? Currently, the server had TS6.1 with SP2 and OD 601. They are sit in OS Sun 8.

Yea I had this. IIRC, the /etc/defaultiwodhome file was removed. (or something like that). So the installer
could not determine to new install/upgrade, etc.
I had to dig through the install script to figure out what happened.

OD 6.x uses /etc/defaultiwod60home - (note the '60' embeded in the name)
