Regeneration of complete site
Vibha
Hi
We have a requirement wherein we have to regenerate the complete site. All HTMLs submitted to staging will be regenerated one by one. In such a case, if there is a HTML that was created using a DCR and TPL and that particular DCR is now deleted in Staging, what will iwregen on this HTML return? The requirement is to delete this HTML file as the DCR is no longer existing. But what is the out of box behavior for iwregen. If it errors out, can we write a script to catch the error and then delete the HTML file?
And if in case iwregen errors out, is it because it tries to do a generate with the help of the same DCR and TPL that was used earlier to generate the HTML file? So if in the TPL, we can check for existence of a DCR in the filesystem before loading the DCR using iw_load_dcr, will iwregen still error out if the DCR is not there?
We are using TS6.5 on Solaris
Any suggestions on how to apprach this requirement will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Vibha

iwregen works in this manner: it reads extended attrbutes, captures the TPL and DCR and runs the regeneration process.
If I were you, I'd written a script on the top of the regen that would delete HTML file should DCR be absent, and would run regen otherwise. 3 lines of code, really
don't forget that you cannot do this in staging.

Hi Zevin
Thanks for your reply...I guess we will go with the same approach of writing the script. And yes, we are doing all regeneration in a different workarea other than Staging and then once regen is done submitting from this workarea to Staging
Thanks again
