DotNet preview server

I have DotNet 2.1 preview server, and after previewing 8-10 pages (5-6 sec download time per page) the request times out with the messages displayed at the very bottom.:

The article listed in Message 1/2 suggested cearten configurations which don't change any thing. I've spocen with Microsft and according to them ASP.NET doesn't work well with virtual folders especialy when the pages compiling JIT. The users are unheppy not sure if the page is going ever to render.

I would like to know Is it possible to redirect the response directly to the preview server instead of prerendering in TeamSite?

I'm guessing iw.config can be modified???

Yes the proxy server can be set to redirect. Depending on what you need, you may need a statement like:

[iwproxy_preconnect_redirect]
_regex=^/iw-mount/default/main/DotNet/WORKAREA/Content/(.*)\.aspx$=http://dotnet_server:84/$1.aspx

Now there are about a hundred other things you may want to do. But the preconnect *may* be what you want.

After some testing I'd realized that I have try some of these hundred things that could improve the performance.
The redirect is working fine, however any image not deployed to the preview server yet won't show and the pages look broken.
Could you please give me some ideas of how this could be overcome.

There are a number of ways to approach this. This should get you started, but it is not a complete list.

Everything depends on how the images are being referenced in the page. One possible solution is to deploy the images to the preview server as well. You can also look at the proxy debug (kill iwproxy, restart it frmo a DOS prompt or shell with -d) and see what happens. If you see hte proxy trying to find an image (and failing) then you may be able to add more proxy statements.

There is a section in the TS Admin manual called Configuring TeamSite Web Daemon and Proxy Server Operation. I suggest you read it very carefully and then spend some time experimenting. This is not trivial. Good luck.
