I have login with root user but still I am getting below error while submitting changes for page, component.

Need urgent assistance if anybody has faces same issue.

What version of TS?
Assuming it is a reasonably recent version - submitting a file launches a workflow - so what workflow is being launched?

However - the error message makes it sound like it may be an installation problem rather than a customization problem - "%s" is the kind of thing one sees associated with patterns provided to LaunchPad for determining what editor to run on files that are downloaded for editing.
Is this a new installation, or is this something that "just broke" after working for some time before?

There *may* be something wrong with your install. Assuming this is a Unix install, there are some files that get setuid as root. It seems as if they are not anymore.

There are a couple of reasons for this, 1 is a bad install - so did this ever work ? Another is many corporations have a process that goes and looks for setuid files and removes the setuid (which if unknown is a security threat) - this is the most common. Talk to your sys admin and see if this is the case.

There was also a case where TS was installed on an NFS mount where setuid was not allowed.

i'm also facing the same issue with one of the custom written features within TeamSite, fails with the exact same message.

this does NOT work only for certain users (browsers FF2,3, ie6,7), makes me assume that this is a client side/browser issue.

No server activity / Nothing gets logged in any of the log files.

any ideas / suggestions on how to resolve this. any help appreciated.

The setuid bit was not set on -> /opt/Interwoven/TeamSite/httpd/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi

modified permissions to 4755 as root; and i don't get this error anymore.

Thanks sivaram. If I had not found this post, I would have been muddling around forever about what I did to make all my workflows bomb on me. It is really nice to see that people come back and post solutions after they get the problems resolved.
