Supported OpenOffice File Formats in MetaTagger
Zilly
All,
Any supporting manual to find all the MetaTagger supported file formats?
Right now MetaTagger is suggesting me description from MS Office documents (.doc), does it support all the OpenOffice file formats (.odp, .odf, etc)?
Thanks for your time.

This is what I got from the 4.1.3 release notes, does this mean the current version won't support OpenOffice files at all?
Any idea the next version is going to support OpenOffice file formats?

Highly unlikely.
You can add a preprocessor to MT for a new file type. If there is an app that will strip out the formatting and leave the text, you can then feed that into MT. I did that many moons ago, not too hard.

Thanks for your response Snipper.
Can you refer the app that you used? appreciate any URL/pointers if any.

I never used an app for OpenOffice. You need to find one that will strip out the formatting. I wrote my own for a different file type.

Hi,
Metatagger4.1.3 does support openoffice file formats. To check try the following steps:
step1: Create a new Content Processor called as "OpenOffice".
step2: Under "Select an existing or new File Type Group.", select "all" as the file type group.
step3: Add any of the metadata fields say summidx_en and save the content processor.
Now pass any OpenOffice document say "sample.odt" to Metatagger and observe the results.
Thanks and Regards,
