OD service not starting after the installation (Linux)

OD receiver is not working after the installation. When I try to start the service, it says

OpenDeploy server host: localhost, RMI registry port: 9173
Could not establish RMI connection to the OpenDeploy server.
Please check that the OpenDeploy server is running.

Please help me with this. The log file says,

2010-01-29 16:15:30.144 GMT+0530 serverLog [OpenDeploy Main] - SVR: ERROR DETAILS:
Session Listener failed binding on [null:20014]
2010-01-29 16:15:30.144 GMT+0530 serverLog [OpenDeploy Main] - SVR: Bring up of OpenDeploy server FAILED.

Please confirm the below points
1. The OD has compatibility with OS or not?
2. OD license is valid?
3. OD ports, where used by any other application?
4. Share your od installation log
5. OD is running by root or non root user?
6. Share your od log?

Try 1: Check the port number that is specified in odbase.xml.

You might specified a wrong port number instead of the default port, 20014. Check for the following line in odabse.xml:

ListenerProperties name="InterwovenOpenDeploy" bindPort="20014"

Make sure the port is set to 20014.

Try 2:

Check setting /etc/netsvc.conf

If its:
hosts=local,bind4

Change to-

hosts=bind4,local

Thanks for the replies. I have resolved it. This error was because of the server ip address was resolving to 2 different hostnames.

Now it has been corrected.
