PT tags in IPL

Hi,

is there way through which we can use PT Tag such as "iwpt_dcr_value" in an IPL file ,i understand the alternate way would be to use some xml based libraries to parse the data so i just wanted to confirm in case there is such a way ?

Thanks for your guidance ,I was able to develop code in the ipl through which I can set Metadata "Title" which in turn which was captured from a field in DCR,this worked for already saved around 1000 dcr's for a particular data type,

i have a doubt ,what about the DCR's which will be created in future ,can i use this ipl to do something programatically(there is no PT for this data type ,this data is send to DB for manipulation,if there was PT i think we could have used iwextattr in PT itself) or as per threads there is a concept of metadata-rules.cfg through which we can set Metadata ,can you suggest which would be the correct approach?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, I believe the answer is FormAPI's callServer() function (or similar) to run a server-side script at some defined point, which can then call iwextattr (or CSSDK equivalent)

Hi,

Thanks for your guidance ,I was able to develop a FormAPI script and CGI which sets the attribute when the user saves a new form ,the only problem is that after executing that JS ,it shows "modified by" attribute as "SYSTEM" rather than the user name ,

i tried inserting "impersonate_without_password" option in iw.cfg but still it gives the same result ,any idea how can we avoid "modified by" attribute being shown as "SYSTEM"

Not sure if that will work in your Environment but you can try to use iw_cgi_wrapper to impersonate callServer effective UID. Like [post=142420]here[/post]
