User name in Perl File

Hi all,

Is there a way by which we can capture the username/id executing the perl file.

Can we capture it with a code in perl file so that it captures the user name/id of the user who is executing it.

How are you running the perl script ? Dump all environment variables to a log file and see if that helps.

The perl file is executed through a tag in presentation template.

When user finishes a DCR entry and clicks 'generate' along with the generated output file the file gets exectuted.

now in this case by using which user the file gets executed?

Chances are it's running as the server process owner, but as Nipper suggested, you could have your perl script dump all the environment variables as well as the special built-in Perl variables: $<, $>, $(, and $) to a log file to see the information for yourself.
