installing DBD::mysql, linux 64-bit fresh install ts 7.2.1

So I have teamsite installed on red hat 64-bit. Installed mysql 64-bit.

Compiling DBD::mysql against mysql 64 bit for iw-perl is successful. Including the DBD::mysql module gives this error:

foo.ipl looks like this:

The iwperl that teamsite comes with looks like this:

Unfortunately, I don't think AIWOV provides a 64-bit compiled version of iwperl.

However, perhaps you can change your code to use vanilla ODBC directives via the basic DBI module?

It blows my mind that the documentation says TeamSite is supported on a 64-bit install, and no 64 bit version of perl is included. Long time TeamSite/Interwoven customers have installations that are heavily dependent on perl.

I filed a support case yesterday, but there has not been a response 30 hours later. My solution was to reinstall on a 32 bit version of the OS

I also discovered that the version of DBI shipping with iwperl is from 2004. Eek!

I wouldn't be surprised by the lack of response regarding this - Interwoven, now Autonomy Interwoven, has been pushing Java over Perl for quite some time now and are very rarely doing anything with regards to updating Perl and/or Perl modules.

I doubt they will completely drop it - because of all the legacy code out there - but I also doubt they're going to do anything to update it (unless there is a huge outcry from "big" customers - and even then...)

You might have been able to link your build of the module against 32-bit libraries on the 64-bit OS - and, as I indicated before, you might have been able to adjust your code to use basic ODBC connections - unless you were doing things that actually required the DBD::MySQL module.

I don't think the DB-vendor DBD modules have been included with iwperl on any platform for years now (like since they upgraded from 5.5003 to 5.8.2)

Or are you talking about PPM stuff for things like ActiveState Perl or Strawberry Perl, etc.?

I may be incorrect there, or (more likely) the DOS install was an upgrade from pre-Perl 5.8 and it kept around the old logs.
