html5 tags in tinymce

Hi,

Environment: TS 7.4.1 on RHEL

Looking for any suggestions/pointers on this scenario:

I am trying to use html5 tags in tinymce(formspublisher), I have enabled few tags through extended valid elements, but these elements always gets wrapped in <p> tags, I want to avoid this, also I dont want to turn-off 'p' tag.

This post probably belongs in the TeamSite or LiveSite forum (depending on which TinyMCE you're trying to customize).

And you should probably show what it is you customized (what file, how customized).

Ghoti - This is for tinymce used in formspublisher, extended valid elements config I added is inside the file

$iw-home/httpd/iw/tinymce/config/custom_config.js.

Below is the line of code I added:

IWTinyMCECustomConfig("custom", "extended_valid_elements","section");

Is "custom" the external-editor-config you're using in your DCT?

Yes, custom is my external editor config,

this is how it looks in datacapture.cfg

Maybe your browser has cached the custom_config.js? Because that line should work otherwise.

Also note that old versions of IE (namely 8 and earlier) have some difficulty with HTML5 tags because they're not natively recognized and its 'designer mode' doesn't know what do to with them so the DOM model behind it doesn't work. I suggest using Firefox at least for testing the cleanup subroutine, before trying IE.
