checkbox is selected in preview, but behaves erratic

Commented code displays side navigation. When I check checkbox, it does not display side navigation. By default this checkbox is not checked

Now I am making default selection as checked, so it should not display side navigation.

When I check preview, checkbox is checked. But Sidebar navigation still shows (which should not). When I uncheck this checkbox, two sidebar navigation shows up and videobox on rightside moves down. When I check it again, one sidebar goes away, but video bos stays below. When I uncheck again, video box moves up, but left side bar navigation stays. On next check , sidebar navigation goes away. After that on next uncheck and check, side bar is displayed or removed, which is nornal behavior.

Any idea, what may be causing this ?
