Component width of 100%

I hope there is a simple answer to this.

I'm building a page with the Layout Type of "Freestyle - Div" and want to set the width of one of the components to 100%. So no matter how wide the screen the component takes up the whole thing.

Any clue? The component layout options requires a number (pixels) for width.

We had a similar requirement sometime back and we couldn't find a straightforward way to do this. Due to strict timelines we couldn't look around much. Since it was only for few set of pages we ended up running perl script on generated HTMLs to modify source to have height and width as 100% in place of pixel size. We are on 6.7.2 so not sure if 7.x offers simpler way to achieve this.

I too, as with everyone else, an under a time constraint. We actually found it easier to use a Fixed-Layout and "liquid" widths.

However, I was going to use JavaScript to change the width of the parent object's width. That seemed a viable solution.
