How to share DCT files across branches.

Hi,

I have a DCT file in **** branch, I want to use the same DCT file in yyy branch. How can we do this?

Ex:

I have DCT file in below path in **** branch

//qa-teamsite-1/default/main/****-branch/WORKAREA/development/templatedata/test3/test31/datacapture.cfg

In YYY branch I just want to have DCR's I do not want to copy the DCT file.

//qa-teamsite-1/default/main/YYY-branch/WORKAREA/development/templatedata/test3/test31/data/TestDCR

When I try to edit TestDCR in YYY branch, I get the below error

"Unable to find //qa-teamsite-1/default/main/YYY-branch/WORKAREA/development/templatedata/test3/test31/datacapture.cfg. Please contact your system administrator."

You would need a datacapture.cfg file to edit any dcr in any branch..Even if you copy the dcrs thats not going to work without a dct..

What is your requirement you trying to achieve ?

What you do is put your DCT code in a centrally located file with a thin layer script to include it into the DCT proper via an inline directive - then you simply use the same inline call in the DCT in all branches where you want that code.

Use an inline:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<data-capture-requirements dcr-validation="none" name="">
<ruleset name="dct">

</ruleset>
</data-capture-requirements>

FYI, input.xml needs to be bounded by <substitution> tags

This really help's. By the way we are using redhat linux machine, I did not find linux equivalent command for "c:\interwoven/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwcat.exe". I think I can try "/bin/cat".

Sorry, not in iw-perl

Try

/opt/interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwcat

iwcat is a little more reliable than /bin/cat (if you are using different groups).

However if /bin/cat works, then great.
