adding a chart downsize the layout

I have a problem with a report, which should be printed out on an A4 format.
This report works fine without a chart.
If I add a chart to the report, than the preview looks fine but the preview of the printed page is not ok because the report will only be displayed in the first half of the A4 paper. I have tried it to enlarge the chart, which looks very well in the preview but in the preview of the printed paper it is in the first half again.

The design of this report is a table with two groupings and 5 colums
I added a seperate row to the groupfooter and merged the colums and in
this merged colums i added the chart.

Do anyone has an idea why this happens ?

When you say printed output, do you mean PDF?
