Expand/Collapse Nodes In Hierarchy of Cross Tab Groups

Is it possible to expand and collapse the levels of a hierarchy within a group of a cross tab?

Suppose the Row group is date, and the hierarchy is Year -> Month -> Date

I'd like to just display the Year rows along with something like a "plus sign" that can be selected to expand and display the Month, which in-turn can be expanded to display Day.

I'm interested in how this would be implemented in BIRT as well. In SSRS, you can use visibility settings with an icon ("plus sign") to expand and collapse groups.

Is this possible with BIRT?
