Map Report Elements
vash
Hi,
I want to apply a common mapping rule to all the report elements in my report.
Is there a way to do it only once (like a style or something), rather than applying the same rule to all 'n' elements? As it is time-consuming and difficult to maintain.
Thanks,
Vash

Hi Vash,
Unfortunately for your scenario, it has to be done for each element.

That's a tedious solution.
But will have to deal with it, as there is no workaround.
Thanks,

You could always try and request an enhancement for something like this in later versions.<br />

Hi Vash,
If you are getting values from a data set that you are displaying in multiple places within the report, then you might consider using a Computed Column on the Data Set to do the mapping rather than individual mapping rules every time that same element is being used.

Virgil,
I do get the values from the data-set, but I am not using the same element multiple times.
Its a large number of elements used - they are used only once, but a common mapping rule is to be applied to all these elements.
Thanks,
Vash
