Problem german keyboard and html tags in VF
ela
Hi,
I've got problems when trying to write my own html tags in a VF textarea (html view); seems like it's configured for american keyboards e.g. my tag < turns into \, z to y and y to z etc. Does anybody know where to configure this, or should I go and buy an american keyboard?;-)
(TS 5.0.2, Solaris, Visual Format 2.6.0.7 with Ektron patch)

When you install VF you need to select a language, I assume you selected english. If you didn't get this option, try to install with the .exe rather than on the fly.

Thanks for your reply!
I did select german during the installation, but reinstalled now just to be sure, selected german - unfortunately with the same result! When I look at the properties of the visualformat.exe file, it shows that the language of the file is English (United Stated), but I suppose that's not the problem? I've tried both installing on the fly and from the exe file.

Not sure what else the issue could be. i assume you can use html tags elsewhere? In a text editor or something? There is some info about language localization files on page 86 of this doc...

Yes, have no problems using html tags elsewhere, neither in a textarea without visual format nor in another editor.
As far as I can see, the localization files only concern the language in which messages, dialogues and tooltip text appear, which shows up correctly in german.
