Fail to log in to iServer Express 11
eladmena
Hello,
After installing the evaluation version of iServer Express 11, I'm trying to log in to the server.
When logging in to iServer Express 11 I get the following error:
19060: Server name or port number parameter value is invalid.

Logging in to BIRT iServer Management Console 11 works fine, however the system status is failed:
System failed.
System Failure Reason : Internal server error: An error occurred creating a reactor instance.

I've tried installing iServer on another machine and got the same errors.

Any help would be appreciated,
Elad

Hi eladmena,
Couple of reasons why this may happen:

The default username that you could use to login is "Administrator" (There is no password)

It is possible that your evaluation license has expired. In that case you could uninstall the server, downloaded another copy from birt exchange and reinstall.

Make sure RPC services are running on the machine. If the problem persists, plesae attach the log files from the iServer express logs directory

1) I am using the administrator user name with empty password
2) I have installed the latest evaluation kit (version 4.0.100.1190), I doubt the license has expired as I installed it last week. Is there a way to verify whether it was expires?
RPC services are running on my machine, currently I have the following services running:

* Actuate BIRT iServer 11
* NobleNet Portmapper for TCP
* Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
* Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator

Problem still persists, can you be more specific on what logs you need and where those can be found?

Thanks in advance
Hi Elad,
You can go to configuration console for license information and location of log files (typically it is your <install dir>/iServer/data/server/log). I think the log files might have more information of the cause of this error. What is your Operating platform?

Hi Neva,
The logs indicate that your portmapper is not running properly. Do you have multiple network cards on your machine?

Hi Ashwini,
No, I have a single network card.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, Neva

Neva,
This looks like a bug and needs to be investigated, please file a bug here:
