deploy Deploy birt designer pro reports on birt 2.6.2 report engine

Hi there,

My company is looking to move from open source birt 2.3.2 to birt designer pro. However, we cannot afford the licensing of an iServer. Are there any other supported engines in which we could deploy these reports? (birt 2.6.2 report engine for example)

Many of the BIRT Designer Pro features require a BIRT iServer to get the most out of the tool, like the security extensions to restrict parts of a BIRT report to certain users, and the integrated publishing of BIRT reports to the server. There are quite a few ways to license the BIRT iServer including per user, or per CPU Core, or a new way called Work Unit pricing. These all assume you want to install the BIRT iServer locally. You also may want to check out BIRT on Demand if you want to start at a smaller price point. BIRT on Demand allows you to run your BIRT reports in a BIRT iServer in the cloud where you don't have to install or maintain the server locally. In either case, JavaScript is used to display the BIRT reports inside your application.

Now if your company is integrating BIRT iServer in an application for resale, then individual components of the iServer can be included. Let me know if this is the case, and I'll get someone from the OEM dept to contact you.
