Chart Display Problem on WebSphere 6.1
lenburt
Hello - we have been developing and deploying Eclipse BIRT reports for a few months and have them running fine under Tomcat. Our true deployment platform will be WebSphere 6.1. I have been able to get the basic 'text' reports to work fine but any of our graph reports fail with this error written to SystemOut.log. The class mentioned seems to exist in a jar in the correct location but it obviously is not happy with something...any ideas?

One additional bit of information:
When i start the application i get a few messages about plugins...i do not see any other detailed information about these so i am not sure if they are related to my issue.
Is it safe to assume that many others have deployed BIRT charts to WebSphere 6.1 on Windows XP?

This is additional information about the issue.
I notice that when i start the application i get messages about missing Plugins -- not sure if this is related.
Is it safe to assume that many folks have successfully deployed BIRT chart reports to WebSphere 6.1 on Windows XP?

Hi lenburt,
What version of BIRT are you working with? Can you follow the recommendations here and give it one more try?

I am using the 2.6.2 BIRT runtime. I did see that posting but it was for WAS 5.1 and 6.01. I was hoping i did not have to build my own ear but if you think that will work i will try that. I was surprised that there was not a WAS 6.1 section since that has been out for quite a while. The link also references BIRT 2.1.1 so i figured it was way out of date.
I will try to build and deploy an EAR and see if that corrects the problem. - thx, len

Success! -- the tip on setting the Class Loader Mode seems to resolve the problem. The tip says the mode should be 'parent last'; In the 6.1 console i think that means 'application first' -- anyway, charts appear now!

Can you report a bug on bugzilla?
