Parameter display when required
Shetty
Hi,
1) BIRT parameter dialog box should show parameter text/list box depending on results from data set.
In more details:
I have List box which is populated from one data set and another List box (separate data set) is populated depending on the value selected from first list box.
Sometimes we won?t get any rows for the second list box, so currently BIRT shows as empty list box.
How can I hide this one? I don?t want to show if no values are retuned? (And want to display back the second parameter if user selects the different value in first list box).
2) Is it possible to show tree structure in BIRT parameter dialog box?
In more details:
I will have text box and right side we should have button, when user clicks on button we should be able to show tree structure (node values should come from data set).
It would be helpful if you suggest on above queries.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Athul Shetty

Hi Athul,
It looks like you're going to have to lean towards creating a custom parameter page. The following link should help you get started.
http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/devshare/deploying-birt-reports/298-2-2-birt-tag-library/
You can also always request enhancements for future BIRT releases to have more features in the parameter page.
