Birt 3.7 - Download as xls not working

I am facing issues in downloading reports as xls and also in other printable formats (like pdf).
I am using Birt 3.7 and running it on apache-tomcat-6.0.29.

In my scenario I have a report which has around 40 columns and 2 rows. Most of the cells have aggregated values. I have no issue in running the report through birt viewer or as a HTML report.
But when I try to download it as an xls, out of the 40 columns only 11 columns are getting downloaded while the remaining columns are missing.
Also there are 2 gifs which appear in the header of the report. Even they don't get downloaded in the xls.

As far as i have read, I see that Birt 3.7 has had a lot of improvements in terms of features and emitters.
So my question is if this is a bug and if there is a workaround for the same.

I have also read about using tribix as an emitter, but my preference would be to use something inbuilt from Birt. If it is confirmed that Birt does not support such features, then only would I start looking into the other options like tribix.

Eagerly looking for some expert help/advice.

The default emitter does not handle images or charts. The tribix emitter does. As far as the columns are concerned, can you set the master page width higher or set it to landscape and see if that makes a difference?

Thanks a ton Jason. I am now able to download all the columns in an xls by increasing the width in the master page. This problem had been bothering me for quite a while now. And i never realized that we could do these settings in the master page.

I will now work with Tribix and see if the imgae/chart issue is resolved.
