Changing the default colours of a legend

Hello, 
 
I have a stacked bar chart with a legend that has the default colours, set by BIRT. 
 
I am wondering how I can change my legend colours to some developer set ones. 
 
I was thinking perhaps I can use the following function: 
 
function beforeDrawLegendItem() 
 
 
However, I am not sure how to use it in my case - the API documentation doesn't help much <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/forum/public/style_emoticons/'>http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/forum/public/style_emoticons/</a><#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif 
 
Could someone please help? 
 
FYI - my legend has 5 colours?

So, you're changing the colors of the bars and want to change the color of the legend colors to match? Is this correct?

Yes, that's right Michael.

You'd just do something like this in your chart script:

function beforeDrawLegendItem( lerh, bounds, icsc )
{
if (lerh.getLabel().getCaption().getValue() == "myValue"){
lerh.getFill().set(255,0,0);
}
}

Michael, this just changes the colours of the legend, but not the stacked bars on the chart. How do I also change the corresponding colours of the stacked bars of the chart?

Oh. I asked above if you were changing the colors of the chart and wanted to change the legend too and you said yes. So, I thought you had already done the chart. My mistake!

To change the chart colors, you'd use the beforeDrawDataPoint function and you'd just do:

fill.set(255,0,0);

inside a check for the series, with something like:

function beforeDrawDataPoint( dph, fill, icsc )
{
if (dph.getSeriesDisplayValue() == "myValue"){
fill.set(255,0,0);
}
}

I compared what you did to what my manager did, and it is pretty much the same.
