Visual Formatter saving unknown characters

When a DCR is created that includes a textarea edited with Visual Formatter, pressing the Enter key (CR/LF) in the textarea to begin a paragraph generates an invalid and unknown character which is saved in the DCR. Therefore, when the DCR is displayed in a PT, the invalid character is viewable.

Your output needs to be UTF-8

You can configure how the carriage returnis translated in the config file.
Pg 266 of the VFE developers guide

There are a lot of posts on these issues.

We tried by updating the visualformatconfig.xml and NO use. We are facing the same problem. We did some reasearch on this and realized the special characters like "A^" appear, when we have <p> </p> and spaces between <p> </p>. Any help with this issue is appreciated

The "A^" character will not show up in the html if charset is set to UTF-8.

i.e.<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

Thanks, LooseCannon. In our preview TPL, we missed the "meta" tag, which you suggested with UTF-8, added that line and works fine..

http-equiv is HTML's Meta tag. As such it belongs inside head tag.
So, if your tpl generates HTML proper, output desired meta tags
within head. If you generate asp/jsp/xml and whatnot make sure that
metas are ultimately rendered.
