Exporting report formating error.

Hello,
I've created a report with BIRT 2.5.2. I can view the report fine and export it to CSV, however when I want to display the file in Excel it comes back with an error. It mentions a log file under "Local Settings" but I can't find the log file.
How can I debug such an error?
Also when I tried to export to word or pdf, the format layout is not respected. I'm using an "Auto Layout" in BIRT but Word or Adobe display in portrait mode by default cutting off most of the report. Is there a way to adjust the report width for Word/PDF?

If you're designing the report for a fixed page output, like word and pdf, you should probably use the fixed layout.
As for the CSV export, I just tried exporting to CSV with 2.5.2 and had no issues. Can you reproduce the issue, in a report that I can run, and attach it in here? Thanks!

This is an XLS file. Is your issue with XLS or with CSV? When I save as XLS and open, I get an error with a message to check a log file. When I check the log file, here is what it says:<br />

Thanks for following up on this. I got very busy and I'm planning to look into this by next week.
I generated this file by selecting Excel as an output. I'll let you know how it goes.

fyi - I can now export to Excel without problems. I had some HTML statements that caused problems while exporting to Excel, even though the HTML statements were valid HTML (I was styling a TABLE)
