7038: Test metadatabase connection failed
Niklas

Hello,

I've installed BIRT iHub on my Windows 7 64bit notebook. Everything works fine.

Now I want to connect an external metadata-database. In my case it's a MySQL-Database, managed by the MySQL Server of XAMPP. I've also configured the jdbc driver (added CLASSPATH).

I can connect and work with my database perfectly with tools like MySQL Workbench and phpmyadmin. If I want to use it as metadata-database, the connection fails.

All parameters which have been set are correct but if I click on "test connection" the following message appears: (!) 7038: Test metadatabase connection failed.

Can someone help me?

Thank you,

Niklas

Sorry for the delay. You're getting this error in BIRT Designer Pro when creating reports to deploy to the iHub? Or somewhere else? Let me know.

Thanks for your answer.

No, I'm getting this error when I what to change the metadatabase in the system console to a MySQL database. I want to use these datas instead of the datas in the internal PostgreSQL database.

I belive there's an error with the jdbc driver. How I can configure it?

I've added a screenshot.

<img src='

MySQL is not an option for use as a metadata db, it looks like. SQLServer that you have selected is for Microsoft SQLServer. I don't see a way to add another db type. I'll have to investigate this further and let you know if I find anything out.

Hi Nicklas,

For iHub3 the options for your metadatabase are PostgreSQL and Oracle. We have a change request in the works to remove the other options.

Regards,

Jeffrey Neneman

Actuate Corporation – The BIRT Company™

<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
