displaying chinese characters...

Hi All,

I have a query regarding displaying the chinese characters in a DCR. I m using Teamsite 5.5.2 SP3, datadeploy 5.6 SP1 and Solaris 2.8 and Oracle 8.1.7

the data present in the oracle database is UTF-8 encoded.
Now i m fetching the data from the database and creating a DCR.

All the characters are getting displayed properly except the Chinese Characters. these characters appear as Gibberish.

do i need to do some configuration to display these chinese characters.

1. I have tried to convert the UTF-8 data to GB2312 while retrieving from the database (i m using perl script for creating DCR's). then the chinese characters are getting displayed properly.
but when i deploy these DCR's to the Database using Datadeploy (standalone) then the encoding is getting changed i guess because now the chinese characters on the Web Site are appearing as Giibberish.

I dont know what to do..I m clueless???

Any help is highly appreacited as the lauch date for my project is approaching fast...

Where you able to solve the problem? We would like to know the answer. We are using perl to retrieve data from database and foreign data is not getting encoded correctly.

You should probably open a support case. There are a fair number of configuration areas to check, and the previous post has not had a reply.
