<p>are the all in one birt designers stand-alone? I had 4.3.1 working great. but ran into an issue and tried 4.4.0. it worked but I see the preview tab is gone. I liked it and still have older reports created in 4.3.1 so I tried to use it again. while I can see the preview tab again, it no longer works. doing a run>view report as doesn't either. I get http error 500. problem accessing /viewer/preview. powered by jetty.</p>

<p>I don't have (or want) tomcat installed locally. I've never needed it before and was happy until I downloaded 4.4.0. nothing else has updated. the jre shown in 4.3.1 is still my old jre7 install. (I saw some posts here about jetty issues with jre8). there doesn't appear to be anything to uninstall or reinstall. I just extract the zip file and run eclipse.</p>

<p>what might be shared between the two version that would affect previews? what can I try to fix my 4.3.1 to work as it did before running 4.4.0? frustrating.</p>
