VisualFormat inserts TeamSite server name into URL

We've come across a weird error of late that happens sporatically on one machine. The user uses VisualFormat to enter a relative hyperlink. (i.e. /customers/my-file.pdf). When she hits OK, the URL in the hyperlink reflects the TeamSite server name... (i.e. <a href="http://teamsite.mydomain.com/cusomters/my-file.pdf">) The only way to fix it is to send this poor user into HTML mode, or have another user on another machine fix the URL.

Any thoughts? I'm thinking that there is a corrupted VisualFormat install, but that's just a guess.

Both. Same thing happens with either button.

I usually ask what version of TS, etc., but I really don't think it matters much here --

I tried duplicating the problem right after I wrote my initial response, but was unable to. Your description is clear that the symptoms are there well before the page is ever generated (i.e. could have been more of a virtualization issue rather than a VFE issue)... just thinking aloud.

Could you attach two screenshots, one when you've completed the Hyperlink form (not the New Hyperlink form, but the one withOUT the stupid little sparkle on it) and the other of the resultant HTML output?

This doesn't help much, but I've seen the same problem. So you're not the only one. My group wrote a script to strip out the TeamSite server after the fact.

same here, I just take the server off... It's easier than to wait for a 'feature request' to be filled

This is strange, since I don't see the server name at all. I wonder if it's a minor config setting that none of us is seeing. In any case, you're right in that it's much more straight forward to strip it off in either FormAPI or on the PT layer than putting your name on the backlog of feature requests.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think this may only be a Unix problem. This problem exists on our Solaris 2.8 server, not our windows 2003 server and I haven't tried it in the Linux version. For whatever reason, the server name is being properly handled in windows but not on the solaris side of things. Like I said, I am not 100% sure, but I think this may be a unix problem and inconsistent code being used across the platforms.

I don't think this is a server problem, unless it's a config problem. The problem only seems to occur for us on certain PC's within the VisualFormat control.
