"View Properties" in TS 6.x - where are the EAs?
System
Hi - We've just upgraded to TeamSite 6.1 on Solaris.
In the new interface (Professional), I went to look for the nice summary of properties that was available in version 5.5.2. What I found was a comparatively sparse listing of properties when I selected a file and chose the Properties button.
Then, looking around, I found the Tag button and looked at its results. Sure enough, there's some metadata that I'd defined. But the Tag button implies that I'm calling MetaTagger to analyze the content and present me with its results. And, each time I click on Tag, I get the 'please wait - loading' notice while it builds the display page.
It used to be straightforward to 1) tag the content and then 2) look at all of the file's properties on one screen and, on that screen, easily distinguish what the native TeamSite data was vs. the custom defined metadata was.
So, here are my questions:
- when I press the Tag button, am I invoking MetaTagger (I do have MetaTagger installed and integrated)? I'd rather not break the integration just to test this out. Or, am I just viewing the previously saved EAs? Tag is a verb, so I expect that I am actively trying to tag the content.
- what is the equivalent process within the 6.1 UI to view all the metadata that was viewable in 5.5.2?
Thanks,

Can you maybe give us a screenshot? By "Properties button", I assume you mean the link next to the edit link in the content pane. Whether I click that or select the file and choose properties from the File menu, I get a file properties listing that is pretty much like the old 4.x and 5.x version, including all the EAs.

Here's an attached gif.. BTW, I'm signed in as a Master and also own the content I'm working with.
And your assumption is correct. Thanks!

Judging from the .htm extension, was that supposed to be a generated file? It should display the TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR, etc. values so I'm wondering if someone had moved the file to that location on the OS or recreated the file on the OS (i.e. outside of TeamSite) so that the EA's were lost?
What if you were to create a brand new generated file from the same DCR?

Instead of choosing the "Properties" button that's sitting in the main GUI window, click the down arrow next to the file in question (beside the 'Tag' link), and choose the "properties" in the dropdown. See if that contains the data you're looking for.

OK, I'm seeing the properties now.
For whatever reason, the metatdata wasn't set for the file I was working with. Once I tagged the file and saved the metadata, the properties showed up.
I have to figure out why the properties weren't set correctly in the first place.
Sorry to waste your time - and thanks for your responses.

I just had a mail from IWOV support. They classified the absence of EAs in the Porperties screen in the compare window as a 'Feature request'. I am pushing for a bug qualification.
and, also the launchable callout buttons from a read-only metdata capture were classified as a bug
