Making Browser Text box uneditable

Is there a way where I can make the text box of the browser uneditable or disabled. Tthe browse button should allow the user to navigate to the browse path in the DCT without letting the user enter text directly.

Appreciate inputs on this asap.

you can try to use the attribut maxlength="-1"

You can use FormApi to make the field as Readonly on loading of the DCR. The textbox will not be editable then.

eg.

IWDatacapture.getItem("/Information/Issue Date").setReadOnly(true);

I think what "dips" is referring to is the browser element and, as I recall, I don't think the setReadOnly function will work for the text portion only.
